An estimated 300 new jobs are coming to Canandaigua. It's all part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's plan to attract some of the biggest computer chip manufacturers to do business in New York State.
These jobs will be based at Smart System Technology and Commercialization Center or STC. It’s a SUNY research foundation headquartered at the former Infotonics site on Route 332. They specialize in making semi-conductor wafers. And as far as Governor Cuomo is concerned, it's the future.
